The Capri is a natural raffia tote bag perfect for summer days. Handcrafted in Madagascar by seasoned female artisans, each basket is accented by elegant leather detailing from DeMellier’s gold-rated Italian tannery. The final creation is all hand-assembled with care. The product of an inspiring local social enterprise, each one is subtly unique and uniquely beautiful, reflecting the generations of ancestral tradition and technique that goes into making each and every one.

Our natural palm leaves are stained using OEKO-TEX dyes, one of the world’s best known standards for textiles tested for harmful substances. All dyes used are free of harmful chemicals and are safe for human use. We use real leather of the highest quality, sustainably sourced and complying with the highest EU regulations and standards. Our suppliers are certified by the European Leather Working Group, guaranteeing the highest standards of sustainability and sourcing.
Our packaging is made of partially recycled paper sourced from FSC accredited suppliers and natural cotton, thus fully recyclable.
All our handbags and leather goods are handcrafted with integrity by skilful artisans using local techniques and traditions in our trusted factories in Europe. We only work with partners who we know very well and trust, who offer fair working conditions and a safe working environment to their workers.

The Capri is handwoven in Madagascar by seasoned female artisans, aided by an inspiring local social enterprise. Its mission is to not only celebrate their time-honoured weaving and crocheting skills, but through providing what is their sole source of income, they are able to support their families themselves.
The 100% natural raffia leaves used for the baskets are locally sourced, harvested, dried in the sun, and dyed with a high quality, chemical-free dye. With this purist, handbuilt process, each bag is subtly unique, with a placement of sumptuous DeMellier leather to finish.
