Inside her DeMellier

My Barcelona...

The Barcelona is my on-the-move command centre. Searching for chic bags with exterior pockets is a tireless task but I love the mix of pocket sizes on this bag and the handy interior sections. I commute regularly so my handbag has become an extension of my home. Size matters and I always go large with a bag. It's also the perfect carry-on size for work-trips away, something I have to do regularly.

My makeup...

Concealer. A lot of concealer. Why am I so tired all the time? Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer comes in a very practical small pot and I always carry a Shu Uemura brush with me for elegant application. (I do put my make-up on on public transport, sometimes.) Blush is essential otherwise I look ill. I’m not loyal to blush brands but L’Oreal Infallible Blush Paint Stick is a current favourite and lasts. I don’t feel my look is complete without at least three coats of waterproof mascara. Maybelline The Colossal is the one that makes my lashes look signaturely Sixties. La Roche Posay lip balm, hand cream from & Other Stories in Arabesque Wood and a leather covered mini mirror (from Bulgari) are the essentials I take if I’m leaving the rest of my make-up bag behind.

My wallet...

Currently I’m stuffing everything into a wallet from Dior. I also carry a little Vuitton pouch (which a show invitation was sent in) for all my work receipts.

My accessories...

My Bijou organiser from Smythson and a large Smythson notebook (the organiser has space for notes but I’ve fallen into a ridiculous habit of carrying them both). A small fold-up umbrella and sunglasses (currently I’m wearing The Last Lolita by Adam Selman x Le Specs in black) because you can never predict which ones you will need! An iPhone 7S in black with one of those thick cases to (hopefully) protect it when my daughter drops it on the floor. Again. This winter I’ve been wearing a pair of Gizelle Renee black leather driving gloves which are incredibly chic.

My other companions...

My oldest friend always teases me that I carry too much. A black S’Well bottle of water. An apple (British Cox preferably). Chewing gum, always. A mini Mulberry pouch (a show invitation, as far as I remember) containing a selection of crystals - elite grade shungite, chrysocolla, yellow citrine and aventurine are my usual daily faves. A phone charger but if anyone knows where I can find one that actually will fill my battery all the way, please let me know! I have a selection of pens and always carry a mini highlighter. Sometimes there will be a packet of raisins, a rainbow hairband or the traces of a breakfast eaten on the run (perks of having a daughter).
