Inside Candice Lake's DeMellier
In my DeMellier
Whilst I love a small cross-body bag, I am finding more and more that I end up needing a much larger bag for when I am on the go all day from the school run, to meetings, to a shoot or the gym.
That is why I love the Maxi Montreal. It is large enough to fit my laptop and my gym clothes whilst still looking amazing. A rather rare feat!
My skin is really dry so I always take a small tube of my moisturiser in a mini tube (the best travel hack!), Dr Sturm’s SPF 50 - which I reapply throughout the day.
I am really obsessed with dewy skin, so always keep a Chanel highlighter stick and moisturising lipstick in my bag. I always carry Alber Elbaz par Frederic Malle Superstitious travel size perfume with me. It is DIVINE!
I always have a charger in my bag as my phone is always running out of battery, my rooibos teabags (as I have given up coffee and this is the perfect substitute), and my Smythson card holder for all my cards. I never ever walk out the door without Dr Lucas PawPaw ointment for lips (which is in every Australian girls’ handbag!) It is my absolute essential and comes before everything else. I also never leave home without my keys, which have a Frame denim keyring attached with my initials, which was a lovely gift from them a couple of seasons ago.
My Other Companions
I am a voracious reader and steal any moment I can to read, so I ALWAYS travel with a book in my bag. I have just started XtendBarre, so I usually have my Ernest Leoty jumpsuit in there in case I can make a class in between meetings. I never leave home without my headphones. Travelling to appointments is the only time I get to listen to podcasts, so I always ensure I have my earphones with me. I usually have a packet of cashew nuts in my bag for myself or my children if we are travelling somewhere and they whinge “I’m hungry!”. I also always have my stainless steel water bottle with me. As you can see, I like to travel around with my life in my bag!
