What made you want to collaborate with DeMellier?
I love DeMellier's designs, they are chic, simple and very fashionable. The “A Bag, A Life” initiative is a really great value of the brand too. With an all female design team, they can better understand what women want from their handbags. The bags they design are not only modern, but also very practical. Who can say no to a bag that is both high-quality and practical?
Why did you choose The Small Vancouver bag as your limited edition ICON?
For me, The Vancouver is DeMellier’s iconic style, and I was immediately drawn to the new petite edition - The Small Vancouver - and wanted to redesign this style as my ICON. The square silhouette with slightly rounded corners and DeMellier's iconic double bar is the perfect balance between retro and urban. The bag is very versatile, suitable for daily commuting or weekend dates. Although it may look small, it is actually quite spacious and I like that it can be worn multiple ways - over the shoulder or crossbody.
What have you enjoyed most about the designing process with the DeMellier team?
DeMellier's design team is an all female set-up, so I really enjoyed being able to chat and discuss each other’s ideas and really be understood. The bag is designed with every woman and girl who will use it in mind and I am really proud of this.
