To mark the launch of our ICONS 23 Collection, we dive into the creative minds of the talented women behind each of the five reimagined ICONS for this year. Hannah shared with us her passion for accessories, and her thoughts on redesigning the London. 

Hannah Strafford-Taylor grew up in the British countryside and fell in love with fashion from an early age, becoming a model and moving to Japan in her twenties. Now based in London, Hannah is a content creator and a mum of two energetic girls. She has reimagined The London - a bag that was designed as an ode to the sophistication and vibrancy of her home city. Using a calm colour, stone, and mixing velvety Italian suede and soft smooth leather, The London is a chic addition to any wardrobe.

What made you want to collaborate with DeMellier?

I have always been a huge fan of DeMellier for many years! I love the ethos of the brand as well and the incredible quality of their pieces. I was absolutely over the moon when I was asked to work with a brand that I’ve always admired.

Why did you choose The London bag as your limited edition ICON?

I’ve always loved a shoulder bag as it’s so easy to wear and style. The London bag is the perfect size as it’s not too big for every day but fits everything you need! I love how the bag can also be transformed into a clutch with the strap tucked inside the bag which is perfect to wear for the evening too. The signature details are gorgeous and the interior is spacious with a zip and slip pocket for handbag essentials.

What have you enjoyed most about the designing process with the DeMellier team?

The team has been so lovely from the start and I absolutely loved going into the office - which by the way is the coolest office I have ever seen! We’re talking the most chic marble meeting table and such a warm, friendly atmosphere in the office. The whole team has been an absolute joy and pleasure to work with!

In my London bag you will always find my iPhone, lipstick, lip balm, sunglasses, my fragrance, moisturiser for when my skin gets dry, silk scrunchie (can’t go anywhere without a hair band!), and my keys with my Air Tag on (as I am always losing them!).
